Is there any hacked 20D firmware?

I like the ISO steps on my friend's 30D and was wondering if I can achieve that on the 20D.
Thanks.

I would also love to hack my 20D and get rid of the multiple folders in the DCIM folder.

Ya know I never thought any feature that could be "hacked" through firmware on the 20D would be useful, until now. ISO stepping would be a damn nice feature.

400 to 800 iso... WTF Canon?

WTF = make you buy a 1 series.

If a (gm) cavalier could handle as good as a corvette, they'd not sell enough vettes.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Because we're all pros with an abundance of money, right? ;)

Unfortunately, for me, this doesn't seem to be the case.

No hacks that I'm aware of for the 20D. The only hack I ever heard of was for the original Digital Rebel and that's because Canon essentially used crippled 10D software in the 300D when it was released.

I was very excited when the 30D came out that there would be a hack, because much of the difference in cameras was software, but alas, no such luck- I supposed they wised up after the whole 300D thing.

No I think because you want more features. Its not a matter if your a pro or not. You want more features so you have to buy a product that is obviously more expensive.

I'm in the same books with my 20D. I need/want weather sealing. The only way is to goto a 1series, which is my next step. If canon made a lower end model with weather sealing I'd get that, but they don't, so 1series it is. This has no impact of me being a pro and having an abundance of money.

The only thing I would like the firmware to be rewritten for is the damn 100img/folder thing. It's even more annoying as it has no logical explanation.

Agreed.

It would be nice to have the buffer optimization too since it was done in software, be the 100 images per folder is just plain stupid.

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer the 100-frame/folder to the huge ones otherwise. It makes managing backups much easier. Instead of searching through for the right starting file, I just grab the folders I've used since the last backup.

Agreed. 256 images per folder makes much more sense.

I use ACDSee Pro to grab all of the files out of the folders without having to browse folder to folder. It still bothers me though.

Yeah the 100files/folder makes zero sense. With lightroom its not a problem as when I import them I have it move them all to one directory. However when I backup images onto my zen vision, I can't view all the files without having to keep changing from folder to folder. Kinda annoying when trying to run a slideshow.
