Some very crisp, clear shots there. Well done. Number 2 has to be my fav, just because of the well controlled lighting. Are you using two off camera flashes?

#2 is an OUTSTANDING shot... can you clue us in as to your lighting?

For this race, there was so much ambient light and great sky color I chose to go with only one flash. I set up my 580 remote flash with battery pack on a full size tripod to keep it from tipping. I set it up on the side of the berm facing back at the rider at an angle between 45-90* to the rider as they passed.

Here's a pic I took while out there of my setup. Fairly easy.

Wow!!! AWESOME work! I have to go with the majority and say #2 is my favorite. That's magazine/poster caliber.

Wow, that second shot should be on a magazine cover. Perfection!

What else is left to say about the second shot? Such a sweet photo.

haha i guess number 2 wins it then! Cheers for the quick bit about your flash location! it does look like a lovely day, better weather than most UK mountain bike races! :)

LOL, I bet. It was much better than most races I've been too. Generally they are in the woods and you are doing everything you can to keep the background while making the rider pop just a little.
