Just wondering how to get the Digital Photo Professional 3 without buying another camera just for it? Any resources??

If you already have an earlier version installed on your system you can just go to the Canon download site and download the update. It will install on top of the existing and upgrade it to the latest version. That goes for most of the updates on the site.

If you have a Canon camera, you should be able to download it from the Canon website.

I use DPP 2 that came with 5D. At the Canon site, they have an update for DPP 3 (that does not work for DPP 2). I believe it requires DPP 3 installed (which I don't have).

The update to version 3 should install just fine on version 2. You will need to have V2 installed first as "validation" that you are entitled to the product. The process to upgrade to V3 is exactly the same as between V2.x sub versions.
