Have you tried taking a shot of Mars or Venus? They're alot closer, so it would be interesting to see the detail that you can get with that setup.

Or even the moon?

The largest one in all of the shots is Jupiter. Not our moon.

Wow! Very nice!

How about tracking down the space station? ;)

Thanks, I checked NASA's tracking site, and no data is available if the ISS passes over our islands (Philippines).

If it does, I think the Sigmonster can get it during a clear night. I've seen some shots of the ISS taken with shorter lenses, and the major structures are discernable.

Thanks..... yes, I've tried Mars and Venus way back but it was tough to get any detail:

Just another example of impressive shots I have seen you post! I didn't think you would have been able to get the Jovian satellites as well. Well done!

Wonderful shots. What am I missing in my focal length calculations? I keep coming up with 4480mm.

Thanks, I'm using square root of 2 for the sole 1.4x. So focal length = 800 mm x 2 x 2 x (2^1/2) = 4525 mm.

But we're splitting hairs... 4480 mm should close enough. After all, not all 2x TCs are real doublers, and the Sigmonster might be a bit shy of 800 mm at full zoom....;)

Its worked well for me... I couldn't imagine taking pics of it tho as they do move rather fast.

Well Ro-monster, you've done it again. Another fine capture and post. But you leave me even the more frustrated and irritated with this one. Surely, surely...with approximately 4500mm, surely you can take a shot of Peter's a*se as he fancies himself in front of his bathroom mirror each day? Manilla to Toronto should be a cakewalk in the light of Manilla to Jupiter? Please don't disappoint me any longer. I can hardly take it.
