I got my good-looking guy to pose for me- what do you think? I have a lot from that day but these are my favorites.

his head seems to be a bit too centered in first and third shot. try keeping his eyes parallel to shoulders. that pose tends to be more masculin to me. but yeah, other than that I like the photos. nice exposure even with the blacks. was he playing in some dirt? his hands look a bit dirty...did you take his time away from the sandbox for these photos? :-)

Agreed on the centered head thing. I just didn't feel like cropping them. :)
Funny you mention his hands- that is actually how hairy his hands are right at that spot. When he looked at the pictures he commented how much he hated his hairy hands. :-P

OOo very handsom! :D Lucky gal... lol Good work... with what disneydork said I agree about it being centered .... centered is good, but it would be neat to see something a lil off center... more abstract perhaps? :)

Love his square chin and dimple... not many men have those cute chin dimples. He must have been kissed by an angel... Oh! Nice job on the photos, too! ;)

...But still the clever north wind was not satisfied. It spoke to her of towns yet to be visited, friends yet to be discovered...

I was taught by a master photographer who pounded rules. Two of the rules he would have caught here are: Never shoot the crotch straight on and flats of the hands are a no-no. These are informal portraits and look great. I like the bagkground you chose and the depth of dield is great especially in photo one and two. The verticle and horizontal lines caused caused by the wrought iron railing would have been better dealt with by softenning them with a wider aperature. BTW...On a male, try half clinched hands with more of the forward edge towards the camera and in this case, one hand on each leg. Hope that's not too picky.

Thanks for all the comments and cc! Some of the things mentioned I had already noticed, but I greatly appreciate all of the feedback. :) The aperature was consistent throughout the pics- all at 2.8. These were shot w/the 70-200L f/2.8 IS... I'm still gaining enough strength to hold the lens. ;) The only pp done on these is some sharpening, brightening, and some added saturation.
Kamra- not too picky at all- very constructive!
