Toss a number in between the pics, so we can address them individualy... How did you use the flash and which lens did you use?

They look fairly good for all that outdoor daylight right behind them...

I used my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD as stated above, and the flash I used I sorta played around with. It was in auto mode using second curtain sync and ettl mode. The head positioning depended on where I was shooting from, as you can see, I had to work with really harsh shadowing so I had to find ways to brighten up things without adding to the brightness of the outside light.

I see some are with flash and a couple are without...
Pattern metering is something I personally don't use... Spot metering on the face(eye) is what I go by... I never use flash, instead use ISO 1250-1600...or even ISO3200 , rarely ever having Noise/Grain problems... I also shoot in RAW, so exposure can be modified...

There is a real good feature in Photoshop that adjusts shadows well.. In Adjustments it's Shadow/Highlight, and will surprise you, by revealing a lot without blowing out the highlights...

I like the composition... while some of the pics could be trimmed to diversify the set... It is a very nice atmosphere...

#2 - try to crop out the back 1/2 of the singer
#3-#5 - did you try flash to get those terrible shadows off the faces?
