I found this on a morning walk in Cincinnati last weekend. The church is Saint Paul's, crumbling on the outside but still beautiful on the inside.

I must say that that red hand is eerie and unusual, to say the least. What's the story behind that? I like the second one best, it has a wide range of tones and textures. Thanks for sharing!

J-
I guess I think a little differently about this photo... I picture a Sunday school class or church daycare of 5 or 6 year-olds, painting and exploring.... maybe even painting a vase for Mom on Mother's Day... a mom and dad ( in a hurry) wisk their child off, but not before the child sneaks and puts his hand on the 'white canvas' that is a part of the church- unnoticed at first, but upon further inspection by parents and other adults- left alone to wear off on it's own.

The odd part is... the doors have no handles/knobs...

Thanks guys. I feel somehow that I haven't done this scene justice. I really need to go back and photograph it again...maybe lying on the ground looking up. Fortunately my inlaws live just up the hill. LOL, I never thought anything would make me want to visit them more often.

Renee, yes, I think that's what it is like, a child's handprint. I should really get the hand to look more blood red, though. In a way I feel like it is a Christ image. Either way the hand is innocence.

Cheers.
