Pio,

There is a line from the Billy Joel song Piano Man...."they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say 'man what are you doing here.'" Remember that line?

This line reminds me of you. Thanks for the great photos. I love #3. But when are you going to open your NYC gallery?

#3 just draws me in. The yellow poncho, its transparency, his hands, they all come together nicely with the gray wall next to him. Very nice.

love them
especially #2 ........I love the raindrops like that and the struggle within/without (behind the drops):)
and love # 3 for the feel of isolation while sheltering there. terrific with the colour

l like #1 except for all of the white markings on the road in front. and the shiny wet streaks on the road . could be lights reflecting also. the shot may have been over exposed originally, but its real nice too

rain has a beauty all its own.
the sounds of it are great....when under cover:lol:
at the moment we are getting a lot of it over in these islands

Thanks for the comments and for looking all! I really appreciate the feedback. It seems that #3 is the overwhelming favorite here. Actually that is among the last 5 shots that I took during that rainy day. I was cold and drenched and heading back to my car after a couple of hours of walking around. I'm glad that this opportunity was offered to me before I called it quits.

I'm glad someone liked #2 too. Marie did you see the second lady? You're absolutely right about #1 too, the whites were blown out a bit.

About the borders, it was done with a layer mask with the rectangular marquee drawn just within the borders, and feathered a bit. Blending modes were applied, for #1, it was Color Burn, and for #3, Multiply. I often use Multiply more than anything else.

Thanks again all for the encouraging comments, and constructive criticism and questions, as I said I really appreciate the feedback. Adam, is ever I get the guts and material to put up a show, you'll be the first to know. You still have that 1DIIN of yours? After shooting in the rain I think I need a weatherproof body.

Thanks all!

I love that Billy Joel line (it's probably what made his career! :) ) and I love Pio's photography work and agree completely with you, but I see more of a traveling world-wide tour called "The Real Big Apple" :)

Yes, I still have the 1DIIN and now I have the IDIII. I am debating as to whether to sell the 1DIIN or keep it as a second body. I am waiting for some of the smoke to clear on the purported error messages and AF issues before I make the final decision, because having the backup is not a bad idea.

six, thanks!

Kenny, thanks! I'll agree to that world tour, as long as Billy Joel doesn't drive the bus.

Adam, that's good sense. That's a direct application of The First Rule Of Wing Walking - never let go of something until your hanging on to something else! I have my mind set on a pro body now, and I'm just trying not to think of the 5D (or the Leica M8 which is so expensive!). I'm still softening up my wife :)

Marie, isn't she mysterious? This photo was all set to go to the trash bin until I found her.
