some of a series of images i shot in portland last year during an immigration protest. regardless which side of the issue you rest on, it makes for interesting photography.

Great images. The baby asleep on Daddy's (I assume) shoulder is my favorite.

My favorites....

#1. Although it has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

#2. I would like to see more detail in the eyes though.

2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

ocp, your mediocrity is better than you give yourself credit for.

i agree about the eyes. maybe a little dodging in that area will fix it.

and, of course the man and his boy have nothing to do with freedom of speech, they just happened to be in the parade.

thanks, all, for looking!

Very nice series. I actually saw some of these scenes on local TV here. Nice PJ work for sure.

I really like the hand lettered sign on the back of the T-shirt (illegal border jumpers...) positioned in front of the left lane must turn left sign. Only in Portland!

I'm really glad I live across the river in Washington. Not that we don't have our issues.

i have to say, i respect that guy for having the sack to go down there and exercise HIS right to freedom of speech. he was the only one speaking for the oposition, and he basically had his own police escort. and with his kids there, too! gnarly.

It's not the place for a right-wing conservative. I'm not even sure the police would have protected him if the need arose.

Nice set of images on your gallery too, very nice.

As a "Righty" I hope that is not true, as a cop I know it is not true.

Schumaker Furs may beg to differ with you. Certainly not the beat cop but rather city policies for their conduct I think.
