Here are two shots I took last Easter on a photography trip to Edinburgh, I was trying to mix both the new (the modern roof of the National Museum) and the old (the castle) in the background.
Which do you guys prefer, if any?!

I think the composition of the pics is so extreme and the castle so far away is why. 2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

I wasn't sure about the shots so any critique is useful. :: For sale: 70-200 2.8L :: Nikon D700 ::

I like the concept but I have to agree with OCP here, the castle is a bit too far to discern. I think the photo could be quite good though, I sense that there is a lot of texture hidden in that deck and in the window's reflections, a bit of PP will surely bring them out. I like the lines and possible tonal range, but I do not really like the tilted perspective. Don't get me wrong, this is just a preference of mine. Cheers! Pio

I will have a look at my disc of images today as I think that there may be one image without the extreme angle. What can I do besides D+B to bring out the textures? :: For sale: 70-200 2.8L :: Nikon D700 ::

3Honu Goldmember More info | Jun 19, 2007 10:30 | #7 You might want to try HDR but so much that it makes it so fanciful that the viewer expects to see dragons attacking the castle.
