So for Father's Day we went over to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum (external link) and I got to take some pictures of my favorite little girl (my 15 month old daugter):D

Anyway, I only had my 17-50 with me today. I saw this bird sitting on a huge nest on top of a very tall chimney stack. This bird was very big and VERY loud, I mean it's squawking, or chirping..not sure what you'd call it. This is a 100% crop of the bird in flight, since I was only able to shoot it at 50mm on my 30D.

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?

It is a Female Osprey, and Probably has young in that nest.

Aside from the local robins and such, I haven't really gotten into birding. After seeing these birds today I have to admit it got me excited to go back with the proper lens.
