Hey all,

I just got back from a weeklong trip to Utah, a much needed vacation! I spent time in Bryce, Zion, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and made a side trip to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Utah. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them! :)

Technical details: all with the 5D and most with the 20mm f/2.8, my favorite lens :)

Great series...

3 of my favourite places in USA. Never got to the North Rim though,.... those shots are great. Did you manage to do Bryce at Sunrise? That's a must see!

EOSAddict,

Glad you like! They were quickly added to my favorite places too! I ddin't get to Bryce early enough, but am planning on it for the next trip. I really want to do some more hiking there too, I just didn't have the time this trip :)

Well, it's easier for you to get back there than me ;) Was there in 2001 (pre digital!) and have 10 films of Veliva waiting to be scanned! In 2 weeks we did Vegas, Bryce, Zion, Kodachrome, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Monument Valley and Grand Canyon.... what an awesome holiday that was! I must dig out some scans!

Now I feel spoiled that all these places are merely a 6 hour drive from me. Practically in my own backyard.
Time for another weekend trip!

EOSAddict - get to scanning! :) I'm seriously planning the next trip up there. I could have explored that area for weeks!

did you use any filters (gnd)? I'm planning on going to the South Rim next month.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

I didn't on this trip, but I'd strongly advise it. I've been shopping for a set and didn't complete my final choices before I left. I really had to play with the exposure in-camera then tweak the shadows/highlights in PS to get exactly what I wanted. I'd also recommend a good UV/Haze filter, it'll help with the clarity. They'll be in the bag for my next trip!
