I have been trying my hardest to shoot all RAW, after getting back from Disney I have about 650 files to edit and find it very time consuming. My wife used the point and shoot and shot JPEG. I was using Adobe Bridge and selecting about 10 photos at a time to open in Camera RAW and I ended up selecting some JPEGS with the RAW files and they all opened up in Camera RAW. Has anyone used Camera Raw to edit there JPEGS and is there any reason not to?
Camera RAW in CS3 I find much improved and easier to work with.
Under Preferences\File Handling you can check "Prefer Adobe Camera RAW for JPEG files" and this will open your JPEG's in Camera Raw.

If you do load JPEGs into ACR, be sure you are aware of the colourspace being assigned in ACR. For instance, if you normally edit in ProColor and load a JPEG into ACR and from there into CS3, the colourspace will be changed to ProColor in the JPEG image and you may need to change it back to sRGB before saving it.

I've saved some jpegs with ACR 4.1 where the camera was in jpeg only or the raw files can't be located.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Well I just returned my Dell 6400 to Costco and picked up a HP Pavillion dv6000 so now I have to reload everything and finish my editing :(
So far the HP looks pretty good, talked today with Dell and the guy was an idiot and ended up hanging up on him, still have 2 Dells but this experience with customer service was not good.

Just to make you feel secure with your HP. A few years ago at the same time I purchased a Toshiba laptop, my local township governement purchased 9 HP laptops - within 2 months 7 were sent back for repair. BTW, my old Toshiba still plugs along even after a lightning srtike.

I would not give more than a buck for a Dell either.
