Photo Magazine Recommendation?

Hi all,

I'm thinking about subscribing to one or two photography-related magazines, and would appreciate some feedback.

The first magazine I'm looking for is one that focuses on how to improve technically and creatively (rather than being series of gear reviews). In addition, it should have amazing photos of various genres to help demonstrate what the articles are talking about.

The other magazine I'm looking for is one that would help with Photoshop. I browsed through a "Photoshop User" magazine and it looked pretty good, but I'm definitely interested in suggestions here, as well.

Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance for your ideas and comments!

I'm also interested magazines as well.. Photoshop User - so I've heard - is pretty good, I've read two books written by the Editor, Scott Kelby, and they were both terrific books...

Check out some of the UK mags on the newsstand. They usually have decent articles and aren't filled with all the advertising like the U.S. ones.

I went down to Rite aid and saw this one photo magazine and it sold for $13.00 (on the bar code). I was like, srew you!. Thats out ragous. It didn't include a cd, or dvd, just a simple photog mag, it didn't even look detailed in info. I'll go down tommorow and look at it. I think it was Digital Photographer.

It probably was Digital Photographer - it runs about $13.00. But it does have a CD - usually pretty basic stuff - but I still pick it up every once in a while, when it has a catchy article plus it doesn't have as many ads, like said above, it's from the UK I believe.

Digital Camera Magazine is pretty good, (I guess it's available over there as I see photos submitted from readers in the US) Although, like any monthly mag, it gets very "samey" after a period of time, topics are rehashed for new readers. None the less, if you've not read it before, take a look, it's a good read and well worth a 12 month subscription.
