How much do they charge?
I heard that canon would do it for free for walk ins... is it true?

should I clean the sensor my self or go to the irvine center?
do I have to call them first or can I just go directly?

thanks

Someone on here posted last week that they are now charging $50 per cleaning. I couldn’t find the post but it was pretty recent. Might want to call ahead and check.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I had two bodies cleaned just last monday the 11th and it was free. They only charge you if there is something that you have them do that is beyond sensor cleaning.

What was the wait time, and did a line form for the cleaning while you were there?

It's only free if you're under warranty.

How long ago was that? I heard they changed their policies. Maybe not.

When I walked in, they were empty. Took all of five minutes to register two DSLR bodies and left with two claim tickets. I went to work, and stopped by at lunch. That took a while since a LOT of people drop off their gear right around that time. Took me about 50mins (I was checking my watch the whole time) to get my gear. You can test it on the spot and check it before you go. I think if it were an odd time (between 9-11am and 2-4pm) I would have gotten my gear faster, as the only factor was the people coming in to drop things off during their lunch breaks.

If you do a search, the user that posted about being charged $50 was in Australia. The policy there isn't necessarily going to be the same as here in the States. At last check, both the NJ and the CA centers will clean your sensor for free if you are a walk-in.
