On my laptop, I need only press the Print Screen button. Then: open Photoshop-->open a new document-->click OK in the New Document Box-->press CTRL+V (or Edit-->Paste) in the new document layout. Then you should have it.

As a troubleshooting question, when you press the Print Screen Button-->open Photoshop-->Create New Document. In the New Document Dialogue Box, what does it say as the document resolution?

If you properly captured the screen, the size of the document should automatically be set to the size of your screen (ex. 1024x768 pixels) and the resolution at 72dpi. Photoshop should automatically match the document layout to whatever is in the clipboard. (Unless you've changed the preset somehow...)

Regarding the Fn Button...on my keyboard all the buttons requiring me to press Fn button along with the intended button are highlighted in Blue. So, if the Print Screen button on your keyboard is highlighted as any color, there should be a cooresponding button somewhere on the bottom of the keyboard that you're required to press.

If the PrtSc button is the same color as the general keys (ex. all the letters/numbers/enter button, etc) then all you need to do is press the PrtSc button alone in order to activate it.

Lastly, you mentioned that when you press CTRL+V in the new document, all you get is white. Is the background of the document already white? or Transparent? If it's already white, try changing the Background color to Black and press CTRL+V again. (This won't accomplish anything except ruling that you have a box of White in the clipboard)

Hope this helps,
Chris
