What do you think about this one? I decided to use the kite to set the exposure what allowed me to get a kind of golden color for the waves.

The surfer is headed to the left of the frame, so I feel that if he were at the bottom right of the frame, it would be more effective. He would be the starting point, and as you look in the direction he's going, you'd see the kite which is pulling him, and the empty space would now have a purpose... the place he is going. Or you could flip the canvas horizontally? Only my opinion, of course. That may not be in line with what you had in mind for the shot, and in that case, you can consider it rubbish. blah something clever blah blahdie blah.....
