Next to eagles these have to be the best birds to photograph

Ah! My favorite bird! Love their calls/song, the plumage, behavior... except when they go for their long underwater swim... then pop out on the other side of a lake somewhere... heh. Nice pics!

Nice series of a truly magnificent bird. I like the 3rd shot the best, because the eye is readily visable. The eye is what makes a bird shot (in my opinion), and the dark headed birds can be quite difficult to photograph for that reason. Nice job.

Lame-Duck - I agree about the eye, having them in focus really makes the shot, just hard to do with this bird
