20D grip shim

I've read that some people use a shim (usually a piece of business card) with their grip on the 20D.

Now, I've got the replaced (repaired) 20D. But sometimes I still see it say low batter or get Err.99 or just locking up. Would a shim help?

If so, where do you put it? Can someone show me a photo of where they put it? Thanks.
