that is insane!!! i hope that you are not even considering adapting to this method because you are going to miss quite a few shots.

anyway, here is the ending to my day today with some great results from the mkIII. not sure what changed and why the camera decided to work today but maybe it got offended that i posted it for sale and decided to shape up (maybe that is the solution ;)

Thanks for posting these Blonde and continuing with the testing. I had decided to list mine for sale as well and actually put the posting up in the classifieds section but then removed it. We'll see if mine starts acting up again today.... :)

well i gave up trying to test thie camera as the rain just wouldnt stop, i managed to use a mates (Kyles) 2n along side the MarkIII, just had a quick look at the shots, now i had a couple of burst fire scenes, the markIII had thr 70-200 2.8 and the MarkIIn had the 300F4 IS, now IS may have come in to play here because not many of the burst shots with the MarkIII are in focus yet the 2n with 300F4 are , as i didnt swap lenses its hard to tell , ohh well when im done with my course (2 weeks) ill do an entire week of testing.

Christian i was thinking the next wedding you do take both MarkIIIs and put the same lens on both, i was speaking with another tog today who had used a MarkIII all day yesterday and said out of 1500 shots 35 were OOF, its a mystery wrapped in an enigma

Well similar conditions today, I had a whole bunch of shots taken with the 24/1.4 that are below par AF-wise, but the rest were like this:

I just saw that over in motorsports and thought I better check here. :)

I'm beginning to think this camera model is bipolar.

mine are here http://circlework.com.au …temid=69&g2_itemId=117233 (external link) about 50/50 split 2n and MarkIII, exposures seem to come out better on the MarkIII but like i said the sequence shots the 2n seemed to do better now whether that is because of the f4 IS lens vs non IS i am beginning to think it does but it shouldnt, im not going to judge it based solely on this though so christian im happy to have a few more test runs in the future if you want, the static one-shot shots seemed fine though using the 24-70 and 70-200, ahh who bloody knows.

Certainly not practical. Glad you are working it out, but that is nuts (and unacceptable). Only way that would work is to have an auto setting similar to the different modes, or preset icons with a tennis player, golfer (with different icons for putting, driving, bunker shots, swimming, etc.

(walks away shaking head in disbelief)

be good if you could name the 3 sets available to register instead of just set 1,2,3 eg tennis, indoor basketball,BIF.

So Blonde what is different now. Just the light/temperature? Are you using the camera any differently?
