i did but i am more excited about the 40D than the 1DsmkIII. i have no real need for the FF and i also don't have $8000 so at this point, the 40D looks like it will be a perfect second body.

hmm... i did get one problem with mkIII missing focus on servo, but it was when it was dark enough that a proper exposure was iso6400 f2.8 and 1/20s ;)

or though really dirty windows with a lot of glare

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I expect I'll buy one eventually, but I already have a 30D if I really need 1.6X. I have the MK III if I need a high burst rate, and I have full frame covered with the 1Ds MK II (now obsolete). I'll be just fine for a while.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I totally don't need it, i totally can't afford it and defenetly it will not improve my photography but having that much potential is just so tempting so unfortunatelly i am afraid that being a gearhead i am i will eventually get it. This time though, i am not planning on being a "beta tester". I just hope that mark III experiance though us something and that less people will be willing to jump on it right after it shows up in the stores. That could teach canon a little bit more respect for loyal customers.

If the whole M3 issue is not cleared up by the 1DsM3 release date, I think I'll abandon ship and buy one of those until and/or unless the AF is straightened out. I will wait though to see if there are any similarities between the AF functions in the two cameras so as not to jump from the frying pan right into the fire. I think the main feature that caught my eye is the smaller size and less weight, but I haven't yet compared the Ds with the 1D in the weight department. The M3 does weigh a ton.

This time around I would not expect waiting lists or any of the hoopla that followed the M3. A Maybe they will have a waiting list if they just let them drip out slowly so as to keep demand looking like it is very heavy. I'm sure there are many folks who won't just blindly trust Canon on this one as they have in the past. Just another drawback in how this situation has been "handled" by Canon from day one to present.

Everything was rendered obsolete today! :lol:

I just got MkIII back from CanonNJ

Have not run any tests yet, but the page reads similar to others;

Service Details:
Electrical adjustments were carried out on the AF assembly.
Other electrical adjustments and inspection and cleaning were carried out.
Customer lenses should be checked for focus accuracy.

That's my understanding. No "adjustments" were made on mine either trip back and I'm still feeling it is not fixed.
