RG's cameras went back a moth ago.....not a peep.... I have my doubts. No update on RG's site other than that they are testing the latest frimware 1.1.1 in Japan.... Kenny A. Chaffin

I don't think they are recall anything, and some shops may have them in stock, but a couple of rumors have said that Canon was holding shipments while resolving the AF issue. There's no more way to know for sure as Canon would be even more tight-lipped about that as about acknowledging the issues itself. Kenny A. Chaffin

The new firmware release (1.1.1) should be here by the end of next week apparently. I'm trying to get my hands on the beta version out right now; gotta wait to hear back from some people in CPS. I've had no problems what-so-ever with my Mark III and have loved it since I got it." Not sure why the guy is so anxious to get a beta v1.1.1 as he has no problems with his MKIII's AF Cheers ![]() Thanks Nick. I may standby and see it that firmware does anything before I totally lose it. Kenny A. Chaffin

Sep 07, 2007 07:10 | #2499 Wow, I just sat down with the morning coffee. I check this thread each day in hopes of an answer so I can buy an MKIII...and the thread is buried way back on page 4 of the forum. Looks like even we are giving up on the issue. GBRandy

Doesn't seem that there is much more need to show that something is wrong; probably one of the best documented issues ever published here. My Stuff

BUT, that said, we are getting close to learning about the 1.1.1 results from the pros in Japan. With luck, and lots of engineering, just maybe a fix is just around the corner. Honestly, I believe that by next month at this time, 90% of this issue will be history and almost all the folks here will agree the problem is fixed, or at least no longer unacceptable. Just a hunch, no inside knowledge at all, but I am better than the average bear at guessing these things. I'm sure I have lots of supporters out there hoping I am correct. I just hope that the fix doesn't involve a total recall. Gear List
