I've been shootin' Egrets the past few days and been able to get all three that we have here in the central San Joaquin Valley of California. All three are fairly common, but kinda difficult to get close enough for good shots.

Without your being able to see their feet, can you tell which is which?

Great series. #3 is a little fluffball. Nice exposure in all three. Good work.

nice egrets. the difference between a snowy and a great egret can be seen in the color of their beaks. the snowy has a black beak and the great egret has a yellow beak. the cattle egret will have a bit of reddish brown feathers on its head too. nice work.

Thank you, each and everyone, for the nice compliments. I certainly appreciate your taking the time to make such comments.

royce10.....I made the comments about ID ing those Egrets just for kicks. As I've come to realize, many people on this forum are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to identifying different species of birds. You undoubtedly fall into that category.

Way to go LD. I love the flying shot. The exposure looks perfect, and the blue sky makes a great background.
