I quite enjoy this composition because of the anonymous crop; but there's another head on the right side.

I changed up the levels and curves quite a bit, and liked the way that the brick looks now. My only problem is the head! I tried to clone it out, but I couldn't get the bricks to line up quite right and it looked very fake.

Any crop ideas? Any ideas at all?

Thanks!

If you had had the face, I would have cropped it like this. I would probably have cropped it in a similar manner without the face, anyway, but I would really have wanted a more shallow DOF then.

I would have preffered the face. From the looks of it, am sure he would have naughty eyes that would have added to the pictures appeal

I don't care for the crop, not when only the bottom part of the face is showing...if you're not gonna show the whole face, I'd crop it out entirely and focus on the hands...something like this. Is it just me or is it looking a bit flat?

Sue, I really like your crop!

Ever get that feeling where you really like one of your shots, but you can't seem to identify why? That's how this picture struck me, anyways.

Thanks for the ideas.

You're welcome.
I've taken a bunch of shots of my son and his various bugs and stuff he's found but most often I hate my own crops too...trial and error. I wish I had captured a few snapshots of the kids playing with the salamanders and tadpoles they had a week ago. My oldest had found a toad last night but I was up to my armpits in soap giving my youngest a bath and do you think hubby thinks to go get the camera? No....Oh well....I'm sure there will be LOTS and LOTS more bugs and insects in the future. LOL
