Has anyone got the music sync to work properly in proshow gold? I go into the dialog, hit the buttons exactly on the beat of the music, when I play it back in the proshow preview from start to finish it starts out in sync, but slowly gets out of sync.

Here's the strange bit : if I start it up part way through the syncronization's fine. When I output to EXE it's wrong. When I write to DVD it's perfect.

Anyone got any ideas? I've emailed photodex to see if they know what's up but they're a bit slow to reply usually.

It's probably due to the load times of the images.
The DVD will be fine since it creates an actual movie file.

Yeah Zepher is on the money , PCs run these type of shows on two timelines so to speak and depending on many things like image size CPU Ram etc can run out of sync , has been a problem with Flash for an age , at least Flash will drop frames to keep in sync .

It's a dual core machine with 2GB RAM and nothing else running, it's not a power problem. Flash comes out perfectly in time, so does the DVD, it's the EXE and playing within proshow that's the problem.

I got a reply from tech support, they're basically full of crap, suggesting I kill processes until it starts working. I'd bet them $500 that it won't make a single bit of difference. I'll do up a quick project and email it to them to take a look at themselves.

Maybe a video card issue? I know that shows play great on my machine, totally in sync in ProShow and as EXE's when compared to a colleagues 3.4Ghz Dell.
I've got a 7800GS CO Superclocked card and she has some standard card that came with her dell.

EDIT:
I just called her up and she said she spoke to them about shows not being in sync (exact problem you are having) and they said video card or drivers.

They get really out of sync and the transitions stutter when she plays the exe's on her laptop, which really annoys her as she bought the laptop primarily to play the shows on the projector.

I experienced very similiar issues, and solved by disabling antivirus protection.

Trend Micro 2007. It might not be that though, it could be a weird thing that happened when I started my PC last time. When I booted windows it reported "the graphics card is reporting it doesn't have enough power and is going into low power mode". I just clicked "ok" to continue, that's when I had the problem. And I had antivirus running. Could be either, or neither, or just bad luck with the way computers are.

Does your video card have a power connector on it? if so , it may have gotten loose or the PSU is having issues.
My machine won't turn on if the power is not connected to the video card.

My machine often won't turn on unless I unplug the mains power plug then plug it back in. I think something's seriously buggered. Once you get it to go it's generally flawless, my solution is I put it into standby and only reboot once a week, which works! Ideas on what's wrong are welcome.

sounds like the power supply or the motherboard.

Does it turn on automatically when you unplug it from the wall and then plug it back in, or do you still need to hit the power button?

Probably the motherboard. No matter i'll keep using it for another couple of years then i'll replace the whole lot.

Haha, lucky I didn't tell them that! They didn't actually mention AV, just processes. I suspect it was the other issue, i'll test with AV running when I get a chance.
