OK, that's enough, especially 96whiteknight who should know better by now. Thread is locked.

Rear panel stripped, sanded and painted. I am happy with the results. I'm no bump and paint man but it looks better than what was back there!

This is the dent I had to address from the last posting. Rather than just fill it fill of putty again I was able to get it popped back out about 75%, filled it, sanded it and got paint on it a few nights ago.

The "new" rear valence (I chemically stripped off the paint), top. from the 4 door and the twisted garbage that I CUT off the vehicle. The replacement needed some body hammering and a little filler to level it out. It was still heavily galvanized. I hated to sand it.

Notice the "original" (?) had 4 mounting brackets and the replacement (later production) only has 3. I contacted several other 1970 Rebel owners and they all have 4 brackets. A few guys with Matadors (1971-1973) said theirs have 3 brackets also. I am guessing a late model year change.

I need to get a more modern camera. This Olympus 2.1 MP is not going to last forever. I will have to get up to speed on what is out there these days. Hey, PhotosGuy, any suggestions for a novice like me?

If you're getting along with 2.1MP now, I suggest that you look through the used offerings in the forum. There are some great deals there. That's what I'll do when my 20D dies. ; )
OTOH, if I was still working & needed the highest quality, I would have upgraded to full-frame a long time ago.

I am not a "camera geek," so to speak so I am still happy with the one I have but it's old and I know it is gonna fail at some point. I use my camera to document things around the Condo Complex that I live in, car stuff has just been for documentation of the work done. I have taken higher resolution pictures of my pets and they look great. Once The Machine is finished (will it ever get done?) I will be more interested in taking much better pictures of it.

I NEED to get motivated and stop wasting time. It's been a year and a half already. I have an engine and rebuilt transmission. Hopefully I will soon get moving on it.
