Well, last year in October 2016, the trend of my storage unit rent being raised every 6 month continued. I could no longer stand it. I had just started a new job close to home and noticed a place on the way home from work. They had a unit 20 ft wide by 30 ft deep (approximately.) It was $150.00 less per month, SOLD! It isn't The Ritz but it is accessible via 4 roll up doors in one large space!

Looks like a good sized area to work. Any more pictures?

I picked up the chrome oil cap for The Machine today. The painted one is just to have the painted variety.

The chrome one looks pretty darned good. The painted one looks kinda rough. I bet the chrome one cost a lot more.

I did get everything moved. Brad Curlett, whom I have known since 7th grade, assisted me and was a MAJOR help! It took several trips with Brad's trailer. Now I get the joy of ripping down the 390 engine to get it machined and the #1 cylinder sleeved.

I was at the Verizon store and saw the Motorola Z Play Droid phone. It has a really cool accessory, A camera that snaps on the back, really slick.....for an extra 250 dollars! It zoomed way out and the image looked great. Too much for me to justify. The 2.1mp will still do for now.

Have you started work on the AMC yet? Show more about the engine. Is it ripped down yet?

Soon. My storage unit, tools and parts are being organized. I also got a small supplementary storage unit 3 or 4 doors down. It will serve as a clutter reducer through the cleaning/organizing process. If it is a really big help i will just keep it.

Got the original wheels for the Machine. They are rotten and need to be rebuilt. It will cost about $300.00 per wheel. 3 of the 4 are rotted out at the bead seal area as shown. It's commpn due to the permanent trim rings that hold dirt and moisture. I removed 3 of the 4. The 4th one is still factory snug. I do not think that rim is rotten. I need to be careful getting that trim ring off. It will not be east.

The 390 engine is out to have the cylinder sleeved, bored to .060 over stock, new forged pistons fitted, rods resized and a balance job. The car in the background is my Rebel SST, temporarily being used as a junk shelf. It is next on the list. It has a tired 360 with 2 weak cylinders. It still has lots of spunk but I have a 401 to replace the 360. It will also get forged pistons and a full overhaul. Next year, I hope. This stuff is not cheap, especially on an AMC.

Yes, it is expensive building an AMC......BUT it totally rocks pounding some nice looking Camaro, Mustang or GTO and seeing them wimp out by turning into a neighborhood to escape you or the horror in their eyes when you pop the hood and lookie, it IS an AMC, not a Chevy under the hood. You got whipped by a Rambler! I may have bumper stickers made like this concept I drew in Autocad:

Block is stripped, crank turned .030" undersize on rod and main bearing journals. I pulled the job due to circumstances I won't get into here but I intend to drop it off at a local engine rebuilder shop soon.
