Will someone please review this lens. I am waiting to see if there is any comparison to the 70-200 IS. And hoping to hear some real user comments.
Has anybody got this lens yet?

Hmmm ... looks more like the Canon press release to me.

I wouldn't spend $ 1,300 buck on a lens that everybody will mistake for a measly 75-300 IS.
That green stripe just doesn't look like it

Just joking, of course. Unfortunately, there's no info on the optical performance. I wonder how it compares to the Sigma 100-300/4 and 120-300/2.8

Best regards,
Andy

Here's a good comparison-allthough as someone pointed out,the poor DO has to compete with the L zoom stopped down several stops
Even so,it shows pretty much what owners have been saying-that it has less sharpness and contrast then an L lens(but is a fair bit better than any kit zoom)

The Sigma 100-300mm can mop up the floor with it at half the cost.. :)

But.. at twice the weight too.. (actually,.. probably more than double )

I'd be impressed if that sigma was that good
-not being cynical,i'd love to try one! There allmost no good comparison galleries on the web at all

Of course with the 'DO one is paying for the super compact size and IS
I would buy one.............at much less than they're asking :P
