I thought I would pass this along....Les is a FANTASTIC photographer and he is doing seminars all over the country that are sponsored by Tamron. If you are thinking about buying a Tamron lens you can get $60 off if you buy at one of these seminars.

This is a good place for people like me who are learning photography, to learn technique and try out some different lenses.

I'm planning on attending the Chicago workshop.

How advanced/not do you think one would need to benefit from something like this? (I would be very much in the "not" camp so far)

There is one here (socal) as well, so I'm interested but I wonder if I would get more out of it once I've had some more time with the camera on my own.

Sorry it took so long to reply...I am definitely an amateur and was told this class would be perfect for me. I don't think it is geared toward pros. This gives you a chance to try out some new gear and lean some technique.

I'm thinking of attending one in OKC.

As for audience and what you'll get out of it, the price is low enough that you can probably learn that much.

I've always thought that I can learn something in any situation. Our instructor is not someone I've ever heard about, but obviously they've got talent and skills. It will be interesting to listen to them and see what they have to say.

So hubby and I will have a weekend away from home, I'll spend some time shooting animals (love animals!) at the zoo, with my hubby playing porter.. And I might learn something.

Plus I'm betting there's at least one nice dinner in there and maybe even some vacation s_x.

Woo hoo, sounds like fun to me!

I have been wanting to test drive a Tamron, just don't know anyone who has one. Their HQ is like 25 minutes away from me, but they don't seem to have any displays or anything setup.

This sounds like it would be worth it.

Thanks.
