I see nothing in the Mark II documentation indicating that the battery will draw down if left in the camera (like the D30/D60/10D). Has anyone had this happen, or can the battery be left in? Thanks.

You're right though, there's nothing in the manual about it so I think it's okay. Speaking of the battery...I can't believe how long it lasts. I'm starting to wonder why I bought a backup.

I will leave a battery in the MKII also and expect the same; No draw-down. defordphoto | Celebrating the art of photography®

I've been wondering about that, too, since I never can imagine shooting 1200 frames without having a chance to recharge. Still, a backup is always a good thing. There could always be a malfunction of the one that you have; that's the nature of electronic things.

I found my batteries dead in the camera after I didn't use the camera for about two weeks. I plan to pop the mkII battery out if I don't plan to use the camera for a week just in case. Thing last forever. I numbered them just to make sure I rotate regularly. I probably do not need a backup.....Yes I do, just need to shoot more. Mills
