sorry no ducks...yet

Yup, I broke down and got one from a member on here (he's a great person to deal with - he had it for 3 years...it's basically mint) and thought I'd share a pic...love this lens so far..

It produces great blacks and awsome colors..yeah I need a decent amount of light but I live in San Diego and I won't be using it for a lot of indoors stuff.
I read a lot about the "softness" of this lens but I don't see it, this thing produces great pics.

This is an excellent lens, my copy is sharp out of the box ...not forgetting the "3D" it creates. :D

Got mine only a week ago! Marvelous! Tried it yesterday with the 1D Mark II N and the 1.4x, and surpisingly, it was not bad at 560mm f/8 (wide open)! The bokeh was also super!

Mine is sharp at 400mm f/5.6, and I see hardly any difference when stopped down to f/8, excluding the bokeh change.

Congrats!

Aero, I just posted a pic in Nature "My First Moon" and it was with a 1.4x Teleconverter and wide open, came out great.

No exif dates maybe indicates that heavy post processing has taken place - or what else is the reason?

Wow, I'm happy you troll the threads finding pics without exif info.

All I've done is processed it from raw and slightly sharpened it in Photshop (as I would with any picture from any lens)

But, just so you can see and justify your trolling existence, here is the original processed from raw and unsharpened.

Good thing we have you in these forums or people might improve their pics - whew, disaster averted.

^^

Sad some people require that data. If the picture looks that good, who cares how they got it.
