The question seems to come up now and again and since I own 2 of these I figured Id take some pictures. I dont consider the Canon EP-EX15 an option since it makes the viewfinder smaller and dimmer, but since i had one I threw it in for the pictures.

Here are the pics (click for larger if interested)

In theory the Oly and Nikon should be pretty similar, in practice I find the oly more comfortable, and the nikon more practical. You have to be precisely positioned with the oly or you dont see the whole viewfinder.

Overall Id take either of them over the stock VF eyepeice, but I think the Nikon will stay on my camera and the Oly will go on my 350D, or I should say my fiances 350d! For the price Id say the nikon is worth it, but hunting around ebay might find you one a bit cheaper than B&H (I got mine for $19 shipped).

Of course a larger viewfinder is still a wonderful thing as anyone who has looked through a 1 series of 5F will tell you, but for my use and budget this isnt a bad way to go about it. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Man, you have years ahead of you (hopefully) in this upcoming marriage and photography. Don't start off giving your fiancé the short end of the stick. If she ever finds out you gave her 'second choice' your photograph hobby will suffer for years.

Heh, I should have clarified, because the 350D has a slightly smaller viewfinder, the Oly works better on it. She's getting the one Id rather be using because its more functional on that camera. She already knows, she was here when I got the oly and we hemmed and hawed over both.

Thank you for the review!
I just received the Nikon DK-21M (I ordered it after reading your review) and it works very well on my 400d.
Best,
Erez

Honestly, while I havent owned either the nikon or the olympus eyepieces, both of those look like they would be very uncomfortable...

Looks can be deceiving then. None of them are uncomfortable, and in fact can make shooting a bit easier as the eye relief is a bit further back than with the default eyepiece. I shoot with eyeglasses both on and off and discomfort has never been a problem.
