NYC Coney Island Mermaid Parade, June 23 Saturday

I didn't realize that this will be held tomorrow! The parade starts at 2PM, I will be there around 1 PM just to hang around a bit. I plan to leave at around 5PM as I am going to watch a play at Manhattan. Anybody interested in meeting up for the parade?

Just saw this today. Actually, my son, who is home from college, just left our home in Westchester and is going to Defonte's famous sandwich shop on the Brooklyn side of the Battery Tunnel.

I would have been interested in finally meeting you but alas, I'll be on my way shortly to a wedding in Sea Bright, N.J.

I thought this was going to be around July 4th. Oh well...maybe next year.

Hey Mark, Andy, I should have posted this much earlier. Anyway I went there alone (well, not exactly, there were several thousand other people there) and had a great time taking pictures. Mark, you would have loved this parade. It's one of the few occasions where women could walk in the middle of the street bare chested (well, some had strategically placed seashells) without getting arrested. Let's plan for next year. Will post photos soon.
