Non Pro with a MkII

I was wondering how many of you guys NON PRO own a 1D MkII ??
I'm just curious about that

I never sold a photo until I bought the Mark II. The AI Servo AF is so good, I'm getting pictures that people are buying. I sold 10 in the last 2 weeks and more are on order.

I should have my Mark II on Friday. After I get it, I'm probably going
to look for a photographer's job in one of the local papers.

Anybody want to buy 500 photos in advance for $10 a piece so I can buy a 1d MK II

I think they are wonderful!! So clear, we all are doing good with MKII. I sold photos with my 10D so I can imagine what I will be doing with the MKII.

I've sold some of my sports photography and portraits (10D photos). I can't wait to see what the mkII will do. I'm by no means a Pro although I'm thinking of applying for a professional license!

What about your thoughts between mkII and 10D

The 10D is not as responsive and doesn't have the power of the AI Servo on the Mark II. That being said, I haven't done a head to head comparison. I never tried to do this with the 10D. Jim DeFord (RFM) has taken some wondeful racing shots with the 10D. I am going to have to do my own side by side to see.

No Pro Here. I have had some requests though just lately due to a presence on a website devoted to the Chicago Fire Department. My 10D is awesome. But so far I think the output will be significantly better with the Mark II thus improving opportunities to sell. I only hope that I can begin to approach the level of quality of some of you "amateurs" here!

Great shots, Scott. As much as I love the 10D is just does not compare to the MKII, which we all could figure, but they are truly in a different class. The AI on the MKII is much faster and pretty much seamless. Everything just happens so effortlessly.

Like one MKII'er said over on Galbraith's forum, "It makes my camera disappear." To where the shooter can concentrate more on the art of his/her shoot rather than fretting about this or that camera setting.

Anyway, I'll be shooting the boats again on Saturday and will be more in my normal routine of shooting than last time around. Going out on a shoot with a brand new camera isn't the best of ideas, but I still had fun...Now it's time to kick some butt!

Anyway, those are some awesome plane shots and you got the prop and everything perfectly. Very good job.

Thanks Jim. Coming from you that's a real compliment. Have you had any low light AF problems with the Mark II? In overcast skies mine hunts like a bast-rd with the 100-400 IS L!
