Haha wow, thanks for the warm welcome. I went out of town this weekend to climb at the New River Gorge, not expecting to see all of these posts. I'll have to get some pictures of that place when I go out next, we were cliff-climbing over the water, so we didn't need any ropes, and the view was just perfect...

Hi
SuzyView hit the nail fairly on the head.
Most of the information you need about yeur new camera is in the instruction book that came with it.
The problem is it's impossible to sit down and read it like one would a novel.
Bit like trying to eat sawdust!
Just take a section at a time over a couple of weeks. I found this the best way to get the info out of the booklet and into my brain!
Good luck with the camera and we all look forward to your duck shot!

Canon 420 Speedlight, Benbo tripod, Photoshop and a little talent!

Read the manual and practice on ducks.

Post duck photos here.

That is the best way to get along with POTN!

Congrats!

Welcome to the forum. I have garnered invaluable advice and critiques from my fellow POTN members. One pointer: If you feel comfortable with it, set your profile to "Image editing OK". That way, when you post a shot or two someone can not only give you advice in wording but also give a visual edit of what to do. Enjoy that XTi - I love mine!!
