The photographer is part of the day so don't be scared to get in there. I used to try to be a fly on the wall, but my thinking has changed. You're part of the day, be discreet, but capture what happens. Professional wedding photographer, solution architect and general technical guy with multiple Amazon Web Services certifications.

I'm worried about my flash interupting everyone. I'm also nervous about organizing everyone and making sure that I get enough unique shots. Any advice.

The reason is if you use flash the background is really dark which I don't like. The flash itself isn't a big problem as guests all take photos using flash, though we take many more photos I don't think it's an issue. I also don't like really wide apertures like F1.4 as it's too easy to miss focus, as well as the razor thin DOF, so if you use it make sure to take lots of photos just in case. Bounce flash doesn't work well because of high dark ceilingsin my experience. Your upbeat attitude about how the photos will look great rain or not will cheer her up. Don't worry about how loud your shutter is or your shoes - move around to get your shots discreetly and you'll be good. Remember to breathe! Belle's Photography
