Emotions happen no matter what the weather. The photographer is part of the day so don't be scared to get in there. I used to try to be a fly on the wall, but my thinking has changed. You're part of the day, be discreet, but capture what happens.

Me too. I have to leave for my first wedding in 2 1/2 hours and I'm really nervous about the church. I'm worried about my flash interupting everyone. I'm also nervous about organizing everyone and making sure that I get enough unique shots. Any advice.

Stacey, I personally prefer to shoot ISO1600 F2.8 1/50th than use flash. The reason is if you use flash the background is really dark which I don't like. The flash itself isn't a big problem as guests all take photos using flash, though we take many more photos I don't think it's an issue. I also don't like really wide apertures like F1.4 as it's too easy to miss focus, as well as the razor thin DOF, so if you use it make sure to take lots of photos just in case. Bounce flash doesn't work well because of high dark ceilingsin my experience.

Just back and I THINK it went ok! Managed to get the formals outside when the sun appeared! :-) Food, relax and then take them off the cards!
Many thanks for the advice and hope everyone else's went well!

Jon

Have a great time - rain or shine. Personally I like the solemness of rainy days, but it bums most brides. Your upbeat attitude about how the photos will look great rain or not will cheer her up. Don't worry about how loud your shutter is or your shoes - move around to get your shots discreetly and you'll be good. Remember to breathe!

Ahhhh Morpeth I know it very well.
I actually lived, and went to school there in the 70's and 80's.
It's a lovely place.

Any pics from your wedding to post us yet JonMoss? Love to see how you got on.
