Zion National Park

I met my father in Nevada for a few days of golf last week, and before my flight out, I drove up to Zion for a few hours.

I had my 1dmk2n & 17-40L with me, so I shot these in RAW and under exposed slightly to make sure I got the sky color.

Cool, enjoy it. I left the heat on for you. It was 110 degrees a few days ago.

A very appealling set of image and shows the amazing formations to their best advantage. These bring back very happy memories of a trip there last Sepetember.

Wonderful shots. 3 and 6 are my favorites and I love how you captured the moon in #2.

Blimey, your underexposed shots look perfect, mine usually look dark. I really like the shots, the colours are fantastic.

Great series.... Where in the park was this? When I went there 6 yrs ago the only day we had in Zion was bit overcast, but the colours and sky in your shots reminds me of Kolob Canyons..... (I know that's no in Zion but v similar).

I'm only just getting over my habit of having -1/3 EV always dialled in from when I shot slide exclusively!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with slide film. I just have enough trial & error (lots pictures where the sky was blown out ) to make exposure changes before hand. I chimp a little and make changes as I go.

The pictures were taken from roadside turnouts. I got out of the car and wandered off a little bit, but I didn't have a ton of time. I just followed the road for a while then turned around and headed back.

No worries! It's just that it was quite common to dial in -ve EV when using slide film to increase saturation
