Just picked up a used G6. Neat Camera. However, I cannot get the RAW files to open in DPP Ver. 3.0.0.3. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

Stupid Me! I just figured out that DPP only works with EOS DSLR's and not the G series. Thank Goodness for Lightroom and CS2.

You could also mention Picasa 2.7, which seems to work on my CRW files (not to say that Picasa provides much in the way of actual RAW editing tools).

That's interesting to know because I'm casually looking for a used G6 out there.

Does anybody know what software Canon originally packaged in order to handle the G6 RAW files for editing then?

I don't use either Lightroom or CS2 and so would need to look for an alternative if the Canon tool isn't available. Any idea if Elements 5 would work?

I just found the user guide and it says that editing and conversion for G6 RAW files can be done through ZoomBrowser.

DDP should handle raw files from the Canon G6 without any problems - the G series raw files are in Canon's normal raw file format.

Wrong! The CRW files from my Powershot G5 cannot even be viewed in DPP 2.2.0.1

It will work if you have a recent enough version of the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plugin installed. (It's a free download for the latest version.)

I used ACR with Photoshop Elements 3 and RAW images from my old G6.

I still use ACR and PSE 3 with my photos from my XTi and XT.
