Took some shots on the local highway near my house. This is one of them.
Really lots of fun doing this with my DRebel, a 100-400mm set upon a
Manfrotto tripod. I especially enjoyed all the attention I got taking pics like
this, the words of encouragement shouted from passing car, such, as "****!" and"QUEER!" : Screw them all. They're A-holes.

If I can take the comments I got out on the highway, I guess I can take yours, as well. Fire away.

Why should people shout such abusive remarks when you are just taking pictures? You were fully clothed, wer'nt you???????

Anyway, about the picture, I feel that it needs to be slightly rotated to the right (clockwise) as I find it distracting to my eye. Also it seem to have very little contrast perhaps a little saturation might help.

I notice too that the cars have side lights on you could have used a slower shutter speed and and perhaps blurred the motion and the lights to give the effect of movement.

Cheers
David

Yeah, all my clothes were on. I guess it's just the mentality of some
people ???

As for the picture, I realize it's pretty terrible (and most of the others I took
during the shoot are even worse). I was trying to draw some contrast between the old woman walking and the cars, but it doesn't work here.
The grass is too tall and ragged for one thing and my subject is too small.

My only consolation is the fact I'm not shooting film.

You gotta take things in context. He's from NJ, where anyone not obviously engaged in the "trades" is called a "queer ****" by those that are so employed. It's a local distinction and a badge of honor, separating one from the ranks of bricklayers and pipefitters (not that there's anything wrong with those professions, either). I think it's a side-effect of union membership, or perhaps even a prerequisite.

Well, actually, if I were gay, then I would wear their catcalls proudly.
But I'm not and thus to me it just points to many people's ignorance
and stupidity. And, yeah, you do find a lot of that here.

You just took these Rick? Dang, gas here is 2.259, 2.359 and 2.459 for super. Send some of that cheaper gas out here!

The City needs to mow their grass more! Interesting photo.

Yes, we use gallons (1=3.7854 liters) here Frederic.

So the regular would cost $2.259/3.7854 = .5968$US per liter. How expensive is gas over there, and do you have 3 different grades/octane over there at the stations too?

I've gotten some abuse shouted at me when walking around a local lake photographing birds and other wildlife. There are some sandy spots and cliffs where people like to lie in the sun and take a swim, and apparently to some there is something threatening about me walking by with a long lens. I've been called both queer and pervert, one moron even mooned me and shouted "take a picture of this, pervert". Just speaks plenty about the IQ of these people - I try to just smile and wave at them. :)

A Second Look

I took another look at this photo and also had a little play around with it (hope you don't mind) Here's what I came up with after adjusting the levels, adding a little saturation, etc.

By cropping the left, it seems to bring the woman more into the picture IMO.

I also tried a version in B&W just to see what it would look like.

Selective coloring might also work, leaving perhaps the lady and the green light in color and the rest B&W to focus on the person.

Say the word if you feel it's OK for me to give it a go editing your picture...

We also have 3 different grades/octane and diesel in Germany.
Here the actual prices per liter:

Normal 1.141 € = 1.399 $US
Super 1.157 € = 1.418 $US
SuperPlus 1.194 € = 1.464 $US

and

Diesel 0.932 € = 1.142 $US

Edit at your pleasure, folks. There's a ton more photos where that one came from. I think meerkat17's cropping did it some good-placed more focus on the lady and gives the picture better balance..

Cool. Just an idea then, continuing from the cropped picture...
