SONG TO LISTEN TO WHILE READING
The Pool Party.
Chase and Tiki got back home just in time for the gathering at Alicia's. She wanted to go, and Chase of course agreed to it. "Let me just get some shorts, it's starting to warm up, and I am afraid I will be hot over there".
"Do what you gotta do" she said, "I am going to start wheeling over there". As chase started going up the stairs quickly, he heard the door close.
Tiki arrived to what seemed like a great party. Madelaine was sitting along side the Pool, and Prince William (Or will, as he asked everyone to call him) would jump into the water doing the most outrageous faces and contortions, which drew lots of laughs from everyone, Madelaine being the biggest fan. Emily and Rudy were enjoying drinks, a bit quiet, but very friendly.
Eduardo immediately helped Tiki to a shady spot, and asked her for a choice of drinks. She decided to start with a Margarita, which was perfect for the mood. He brought it to her, and asked where Chase could be. "oh, he's getting some new shorts on or something, and he'll be right over" she said.
"Oh, more drinks for me" said Will, as he plunged on a human-flesh-ball into the water, creating a huge wave, and taking almost a whole foot worth of water depth out of the pool.
Alicia sat down and started chatting with Emily and Tiki, about her leg, and about her life. THey were starting to get to know one another, and were striking a good friendship. Alicia seemed relaxed, in her own environment, doing what she'd wanted to do, and what she had dreamed off. Madelaine quickly joined, without taking her eyes from Will, who grew tired of diving, and started floating on his back, his ears below waterline -making that empty woooptly whoop underwater sound- and looking at a small cloud racing through the Andalucian sky. It was a beautiful day, he thought.
Will had grown with the luxury of kings, and queens. (Not the show, but the real deal). He had been pampered, and he knew no need throughout most of his life. However, there was a side to him that most -everyone, he thought- did not know, or even understand.
As madelaine playingly started moving her legs to make waves in the water, Will got a surprise three inch tsunami, that got just enough water in his open eyes and down his nose, to get him startled. He jumped up, and she laughed.
He walked towards her, and while pretending to get out of the Pool, he picked her up very gently, and quickly tossed her with drink and all, into the pool (Thank goodnesss she'd already eaten the olive!).
Everyone stopped for a quick laugh, and then Will started listening in. Even Eduardo, stepped away from the crab-cakes to listen as well.
Emily had brough this really good point about something, and how two things may be the same, and yet seem different to two people, without specific points of reference. "I gotta hear about that one more time" said Eddie, popping a Prosciuto and Mozzarella roll into his mouth, the thirteenth of the party.
"All I am trying to say, is that anyone, for example Alicia, is one way.. Let's establish that she is who she thinks she is, the way she is. Now to two different people, say Will and Me, Alicia may come across as a different person. For the sake of argument, let's say I think she is very introspective, and Will thinks she just talks too much. When in reality, she thinks of herself as a quietly extroverted person. You see? There are three views of one thing, and all of them completely differ from one another... Maybe it's the Margarita's talking, I should hush up"...
Will stood up, away from the pool, as he could tell Madelaine was slowly trying to corner him into the poolside, so she could push him back in, oh sweet revenge.

- New song for the mood...
"What she says makes perfect sense to me" he said. They all turned to look at him. "And I have not been drinking that much", Will added with a smile.
"You see, my view of who I am is so different from every one of your views of me..." Will went on to explain, that though he had been born into a world of extreme riches, and historic value -he mentioned how Henry VIII and many other monarcs had considered themselves as God's sent person to govern on earth- and that though most saw the Press reports about his life, his childhood with Charles and Diana, her tragic death, and his close relationship with his brother, that it was all a fabrication of other people's views on the subject, and not his own.
"And which one is to matter then?" he asked "Which vision is the most important?... The assumed perception others have of you, or the one you have painted of yourself?"... He had a good point. And everyone's attention.
He told them, for the second time ever sharing with anyone -Madelaine had been the first- of the many pains and sorrows of being brought up in Nobility. He was looked upon as one of the next Heirs of England, the whole Kingdom. He was not some ordinary person with desires and the ability to make good and bad desicions all at once, and learn from them. His life had been entirely planned for him. When to wake up, what to eat, even how to eat it. He had gotten private instruction as to how to hold the fork like a prince, how to chew as a prince, and even to the smallest detail, meticulously pre-arranged (wow, big word there). Even the simple task of tying his own shoes was not up to him, he was taught when and how to do it, when a prince should and should not touch his own nose, wether a cough of his, or the clearing of his own throat would mean dissapointment from his people, or a sign of disrespect towards his elders.
Then he told the story of when his mother died, back in 97. Him and Harry were never told right away, as any other surviving parent would. Charles was busy trying to handle the political aspects of the situation, as well as dealing with his own sense of shock. But Will and Harry had been left in their Work Rooms, finishing up some homework.
It was when Harry tried to learn more about Jurassic Park and Pre-historic animals, that a search yielded the breaking news. A photo of their mom with a ligh blue dress, getting into a black Mercedes, the same one they themselves had been taken places in so many times before. Will told how Harry asked him if it could be true, and started sobbing, while he ran to the window, and pulling the great drapes aside, saw a growing crowd starting to gather outside the gate. They had seen her that morning. No special last words or any other token had been exchanged. Will took his brother in his own arms, and choking up promised that it was not true, it couldn't be.. It was probably just one more time the Press would treat them unjustly.. Harry stood up and started running up and down the hallways, with Will trying to follow after him.
It was virtually impossible for Madelaine and Emily wether Will's eyes were now red of holding back the tears, or if they were a product of the pool water. To his advantage, this gave him the benefit of the doubts. He had been taught not to cry in front of other people.
Will finished his account, making his point "I guess what I mean, is that my mother always thought so very little of herself. And yet we loved her so much. The World thought she was good with Charity, and an Ambassador of good will towards the world, a friend to the naked and hungry. What nobody ever thought of, is about what she meant as a mother. She did read us bedtime stories. She'd tickle us, and make us laugh with some funny faces. She also bore heavily the price of nobility, but she had always said it was for a great cause. So Emily is completely right. There can be one person in this world, and three different visions of the same, three different realities, one independent from the other..."
Wow. Nobody knew what to say. This prince was just a man in need of loving. And a Hug. Eduardo thought of administering, but thank goodness Madelaine was close by, and she hugged him for the rest of the group. Will disregarded it, as if it had been simply the point of some casual conversation, instead of the inner pouring of his own heart to someone else in his life.
Rudy wanted to help ease the pain in the air, and get everyone -for a change- as far away from reality as possible. This was probably a good thing.
So he pushed a tray with about 12 Margaritas right by the Jacuzzi (Hot water pool with the bubbles and such), which was big enough to host a small party and the jet they'd used to fly in there. Grabbing a tray of finger food himself, he yelled "Ok, last one in the Jacuzzi gets to stay and clean up!"...

- A change in mood....
Everyone gathered around the Jacuzzi. The combination of warm water and cold Alcohol felt really good. The Sun was really friendly. Rudy actually waited for Emily to jump in, before going in himself. She was very happy about that.
Tiki stayed by the side of the Jacuzzi, but very close to the Margaritas. And she would be the Deejay for the rest of the party.
--And we are getting into the next episode, with McSteamy and all sorts of surprises... Mario's busy little typing fingers needed a rest. And he can already hear 3Turner, saying that the episodes end just as they get actioney... I know, it's a good interest keeper. I hope I am delivering though...
