I've never wielded the MKIII w/300 f4IS & the 2x until yesterday (and boy are my arms sore today)...it was great day for osprey in particular though and I got a lot of fun shots...including this sequence.

Looks great, Lisa. You're probably smart not to post these in the 'My Mk III Sukz' thread.

Thanks very much Gary. I was really pleased with this combo. I need to be a little more proficient at holding it steadier though...but I'm working on it :)

LOL!  I'm happy with mine Chief. I had some mis-focuses yesterday (nothing like CDS's) but overall I couldn't be more pleased with it.

It's a great sequence, and this is what I saw the very first time I saw an Osprey. It was flying along, then just dropped into the lake. I thought it had a heart attack. :D

Awesome pix, I know what u mean about the weight of big lenses....

If u pm Gyrob, he has info on how to make a homemade Wimberley head, give your husband an assignment for a w/end.

:) Right you are Belmondo, hope things are going great with your Mk III as well.

Great shots Lisa! I particularly like the last few!
