Well, My Wifes... mine is fine.

Epson C86
Inkjet
seperate Ink cartridges

The black and blues are not printing... they were, they ran out and I changed them and now they dont print. not even a little bit..

Print heads are dead?? I tried the "Clean print heads" about 7 times... nothing.
Anyone have a guess?

Epsons are notorious for dried print heads. I owned 2 Epsons and they both did that. I now own a Canon and couldn't be happier! LOL!

yeah i think they dried out and the left over ink inside them are clogging it. dont think u can clean em tho.... usually printers are disposable items that when they break, dump and buy new one. they are pretty cheap. i checked ebay and u can buy replacement for $40

I have tried in the past to fix them and I never had any luck. I'm not saying it can't be done, but the tips and tricks never worked for me. Do a search on Epson dried ink head fixes and see what you come up with.

Ok.. I found site after site of magic elixers to flush the heads... then i got the email from Epson telling me to do everything i have already tried.. and according to almost all of the Epson "How do I fix this" threads i came across, they all say it just might be easier and less $$$ to go buy another printer.. lol good, another $100.00 wasted!! I think i will try flushing the heads myself.. I wish I knew what it was these kits used.. Im thinking alcohal but im not sure.. i know the stuff you can buy has to be super heater in a microwave..

If I remember right the "fix" I tried was using window cleaner.

This link says not to use ammonia or alcohol.

Now this one says ammonia is ok...go figure!
