This crossed stereo shows one of the sculptures in the Mediterranean Biome of the Eden Project, Cornwall, England. It is a representation of ancient fertility rites.

This is a crossed stereo. Sit 2-3 feet from your monitor. Slightly cross eyes. Do not strain or go bug-eyed. Relax. A central image giving stereo depth will appear.

Please leave comments! :)

As usual, you have picked another great subject for these shots. The only thing that might have made it slightly better would be to have just a little more front or fill lighting. Other than that, excellent job!

I apologise for the boring repetitiveness of my posts, but what can I do. Excellent image and effect.

I really would love you to post a real Idiots guide to doing this.

Thanks, Billbo, I think you make a fair and well made comment: I may well reprocess this stereo.

Really, Neil, I dont mind your repetitiveness! :D As for the guide I shall try to do something (there are various how-to-stereo sites on the WWW).

As slight and subtle a change as you've made, it made a wonderful difference. The detail in the statue is now much easier to see, and nothing else has been lost!
Great work.

Love it!

Here's a great way to get yourself to see the 3D image. If you can't cross your eyes on command to merge the two images into one, place your finger in front of the screen, and slowly move your finger closer to your face as you focus on it. You'll notice that the closer you bring your finger to your face, the images on the screen will begin to move together. This is done in the exact opposite way you would view a "Magic Eye" poster. Instead of looking "through" or "behind" the image, you focus in front of it. Once you do this, you will see a "3rd" image appear between the 2 images above. That's the 3D image.
