A few months or so ago when I got my 24-70L using the statement 'excited to get out and shoot with it' would not do justice as to the thrill I got when it was locked onto my camera. It was a few days after all the rain and storms had passed that I really got to use it (It was used during my first nude shoot).

Now that I got my 5D a few days days ago it is the same thing. "FLASH FLOOD WARNING!"

So here I am looking at a friggin amazing setup, 5D + 24-70L + 430EX, and am not going to be able to get some beaufitul shots.
For fu(n)k sake it was a beautiful day, small cool breeze a few clouds in the sky, sun shining, blue skys and as soon as Im about to get things set to head out, BAM...........rain.

Does this seem to happen to anyone else or am I getting a woman's scorn?

Might as well hear some stories SEEING AS IM NOT GOING TO BE HEADIN OUT THIS EVENING.

There are people whose livelihoods depend on the weather, like farmers. A bad year can break them. Also those who operate ski resorts or mow lawns or plow snow for a living.

Then there are others affected perhaps less seriously, like construction workers. I'm sure there are more.

The rest of us really don't have much cause to complain.

So shoot your loved ones indoors. Or do a series of still lifes. Or whatever.

There's always something to shoot. And indoors, you can do it nude without getting wet.

Being just a little bit north of you, I feel your pain on the never ending rain. For about a month now it has been non-stop. We needed the rain to begin with after having droughts for a few years, but it's going to the opposite end of the spectrum now. Too much rain. Land is too soggy and I know one of the local growers in my area is loosing some crops to something akin to "root rot"?

Hey, you're the one who said you used your 24-70L during your first nude shoot. Far be it from me to impede your choice of attire--or lack thereof.

Personally, I like at least a photographer's vest. I need the pockets..

If someone knows a farmer or photographer that is really happy with the weather, let me know.;)

Today would have been perfect for shooting flowers, but the breeze kept moving them out of focus or out of the frame.

When did voluptuous become voluminous?

Hm, nude shots. You're giving me ideas. Is it reasonable? The thought of shooting nude(s) with a big prime dangling from my camera exciting me? Thanks for the motivation and creative ideas! Now where's my camera bag, I've got business to attend to. ;)

A push-pull zoom might be more effective, depending on your taste.

Nah, too much work. A nice long prime will just stay that way - at the ready. ;)

PS Curtis - I hope you realize that I think you totally rock!

I did not realize that. It's good to know. Feel free to say that in a PM, where you can include all the mushy stuff that will make me blush.
