I'll have to check, I thought I read in the documentation that it doesn't actually remove them... but then again, I did speed read it :)

A quick test shows that the keyword was replaced correctly in the XMP sidecar for a CR2 file. Won't have time tonight to do any more tests, but I'd like to try some more tests with JPGs and DNGs.

With 1.1 I am now locking up. I run xp. When I first installed Lightroom 1.0, I had a little trouble with the software freezing up, but when I moved from 512k to 2mb ram, problem was resolved. Yesterday I upgraded to 1.1. About every third time I try one of the tabs under "file, edit, slideshow, play, view, window, help" bar, the dang thing doesn't show show pulldown and freezes up. Any0ne else see this specific problem? Any cures you know of?

Upgraded to 1.1 a few minutes ago. No issues at all. Only took 15 minutes and when it restarted it even had the same photo open that I was editing when I started the upgrade. It brought in all 22,000 images in my library and all the metadata. I am very happy with the new sharpening tool!

Well, I've used it for two nights now (managed to sneak into the Adobe site in time after reading "infoline's" post).

I think I'm in love. ;)

The additions of Clarity, and Sharpening along with the Clone/Heal tool are doing wonders for me.

I'd like to hear some other people's comments on the sharpening in LR - particularly from those that have been doing sharpening in PS for a few years.

i would love that lightroom makes 1:1 preview cache before open a image
because make 1:1 previews of the all databasa keeps a lot of time

Then set your standard previews as your cameras sensor size in the LR Preferences and upon Import check the box that says "Render Standard Previews".

I tried to dump my whole cataloge to my laptop last night to give me a baseilne from which I could then do the import/export shuffle. Even without the master files it was 3.7 GB 'cos I have 1:1 previews rendered.

It's done now (took 1hr 45 mins over the wireless network to copy it!) But is there anyway of binning 1: 1 previews without waiting for them to expire? Is it as simple as deleting the preview cache file?

I'm not particulary fond of the keyword autocomplete. Anyone find a way to turn it off? I still prefer Bridge and my meta templates.

At least Lightroom LOOKS pretty. It displays shots quite nicely.

There is a previews folder located in the same directory as the database. I am not sure how it does the structure of the previews though.

Yes there is.. it's in the catalog settings in the file menu

Jason,

There is a cracking article on the new menus at www.lightroom-news.com (external link) Well worth a thorough read.

That's what I meant, but don't know if simply deleting it would screw up LR. Guess could move it and see. Not worth it now as I have the catalog on my laptop anyway with the 1: 1 previews.

Something else that is interesting. Has anybody else noticed that we have so eagerly been awaiting 1.1 that there has been no mention about the SDK release for third party vendors? I wonder how long before we start to see this become available.
