I'm a bit confused here. Does it mean that, if I am using CS2, I can't use all the facilities in Lightroom 1.1?

Only if you try to open a photo that was edited in LR. If you send the file to CS2 from LR with the Right Click - Edit in CS2 w/ LR changes then you are fine.

i think that it doesn't support shooting styles from my mark III or any other camera i suppose and i am not sure about custom WB either ....i am trying to cut my postprocessing time so i am setting custom WB whenever i can ...if LR doesn't support that they just lost another customer ...and it's not doing any wonders in other aspects of PP either so..i guess i am stuck with old crappy DPP again ..or am I ..please advise

I am loving Lightroom and all the things that we can list about it that it doesn't do, I bet it will in future versions. I don't feel any loyalty towards Adobe but I do believe in their products and their commitment to improving those products. We can't always have all the features we need as we need them and for some people I know that Canon's DPP is preferred because their software presents you with information that is not contained within EXIF data... for instance, seeing your AF points.

Which program we use depends on our individual needs. It's like the comparison/argument about Lightroom vs. Aperture. They are both such powerful programs and it's just a quesion of which interface you like and which one lets you develop a work flow that, well...........flows. :D

I am not sure about custom WB (although I think it should be supported), but I know for sure that it will NOT support Picture Styles. This is a DPP only thing, but you could create presets that emulate these settings in Lightroom with enough time I think.

yeah well shooting styles don't worry me at all ..i would like to have the option to flip at least between BW and Neutral but well...no biggy ..Custom WB on the other hand is a must for me and what's with the expo compensation ..am I blind or is it not there in META data ?

I thought they were changing the terminology to Catalog in all respects. Even after it said it was importing my existing Catalog and presenst me with options to open, import and export within catalogs, the main library sidebar still uses the word Library in it. That's kind of confusing unless something glitched.

this happened to me on one of our computers (on the other one it updated just fine). I closed LR, went to where the library was, opened lightroom that way and suddenly it updated my library.
