I had to try twice to get my library to convert to a catalog... First time only 800 of 6,000 photos... I deleted that catalog (made a second copy of my original library I wanted to convert.) RE-installed 1.1... and the second time all my images came across (got 1 or 2 errors on images (not sure what that's about... but if my images are still on the drive, I can just reimport them).

Anyway I deleted that catalog anyway, because I wanted to try to reimport my catalog from Elements with all my keywords, etc... my heirarchy is all confused, keywords are a jumbled mess... some placed in heirarchy, some not. Others duplicated in correct heirarchy and outside of heirarchy (some with same number of photos tagged with each, some with different photos for each tag of the same name.)

Only way I could see to sort this mess out would be if there was a way to merge two keyword tags into one. But I don't see any way to do that... feature request maybe, though I doubt anyone would listen... they don't seem to be too concerned with keywords, quite honestly.

One thing I noticed that's odd:
Most of my RAW shots I appy a custom camera calibration preset to get my colors pretty good from the start. In 1.0, when I went to "presets" it showed that my "xt-calib" preset was being used. In 1.1, they now all say something like "saved preset", but colors are good, so its apparently using my preset. Confusing, since I didn't apply that preset to ALL my images (only for the last few imports, and various files to test my calibration), now I can't tell easily which ones I have or have not applied it to. (other than colors looking strange, of course.)

Also, as I mentioned elsewher. my Keywords are hosed

For duplicate keywords try the following:

Change the name of one of the keywords. I had trouble with having "Outdoor" in two places due to a spelling issue. So I changed one to be "outdoor". Then click on the "outdoor" keyword, select all, and apply the "Outdoor" keyword. Now delete the "outdoor" keyword from the keyword panel and they are gone.

With Lightroom 1.0, I was on the side of the fence that nothing was working correctly, the program was slow, etc. Now, with Lightroom 1.1, I have crossed over, and everything appears to be working very well for me. I am still frustrated, however, for those that are having so many issues. It's disappointing that there are unresolved problems for seemingly so many people.

Remember though that you probably don't hear from those that are not having trouble.

You should be able to get all the answers you need at Lightroom-News.com (external link) including info regarding the official release.

Nice overview of the items that were updated is also presented.

Absolutely correct. It was fascinating to watch Adobe Forums last night. The post traffic dropped to virtually nothing, and then slowly has returned. It's just that I find it an odd feeling to go from trouble to satisfaction (generally) with this new version, and yet there are those "left behind" so to speak with remaining issues.

But then, from my perspective, Adobe corrected many of the issues I was experiencing, and I feel like I can say that Adobe will continue to fix issues until most (not likely all) of the customers will be satisfied.

Hopefully...

just ooc, is there any way in this new update to multiple delete in the develop mode? The only way I can find to do it is in the library mode when I have the multiple preview boxes showing, then it will let me...

In 1.1 you can now delete multiple photos in the Develop module. I was glad to see that.

Yes, there are things missing that I would have liked to see but, hey, Adobe didn't write LR just for me.. overall I'm impressed with 1.1.

Exporting and importing cataloges seems to work OK, but, of course, if you only export some of your images to remotely edit (on a laptop) it doesn't export all your keyword heirarchy too Argh!

I think the way round this is to export the whole catalog minus the negative files...

Have you tried selecting the images in the filmstrip with CTRL Click or Shift Click and then press the delete key, backspace, or x key?

yes, and it's only letting me delete one of the multiple that are selected (just like before)...it's weird because I'd heard that you could multiple delete in develop. I'm on a mac, but I don't know if that would make a difference...

It's not a huge deal but it was one of the things I REALLY wanted to see changed.
