Just installed 1.1 on my macbook pro. Not a hitch at all. All very smooth.

Exactly Mike. I'm on a Mac so I Control-Click to select the images and then you can either hit the Delete key or right click over one of the images and the menu selection that normally say Delete Photo has now changed to Delete Photos.

yes, and it's only letting me delete one of the multiple that are selected (just like before)...it's weird because I'd heard that you could multiple delete in develop. I'm on a mac, but I don't know if that would make a difference...

It's not a huge deal but it was one of the things I REALLY wanted to see changed.

Hmmm. I haven't tried it yet but Robert seems to have it working. Strange.

thank you Robert, I was shift clicking to select and then hitting delete...it showed up as delete photo. That did it!

Sure thing Permagrin,

I use both Mac and PC and sometimes I get my keyboard shortcuts mixed up. :D

I have a feeling we're going to see quite a few of these smaller upgrades as problems are fixed and features are implemented. I have no information to back this up but I suspect that behind the scenes version 2.0 is being developed and these are tiny stepping stones. Ibet 2.0 is going to be kicking and probably not too far off in the grand scheme of things.

But will probably not be a free upgrade. :(

Hey Don,

I only played a little with the Sharpening but it loks powerful with much greater control that 1.0. Supposedly it approximates the Photoshop USM algorightms. I like the masking control, which I guess is like the threshold control is in PS. Don't oversharpen though. It looks like it's easy to do and since you only see it when viewing 1:1 you can get easily confused or perhaps add more, thinking it's not enough when looking at previews at other sizes.

For duplicate keywords try the following:

Change the name of one of the keywords. I had trouble with having "Outdoor" in two places due to a spelling issue. So I changed one to be "outdoor". Then click on the "outdoor" keyword, select all, and apply the "Outdoor" keyword. Now delete the "outdoor" keyword from the keyword panel and they are gone.

excellent idea mike, thanks.

I was trying to put both groups into a collection, then applying one keyword to all then deleting the other... worked sometimes... but other times when I deleted it would delete BOTH keywords.

I think your idea may just be what I'm looking for.

Only downside in either case is I don't think LR actually removes a keyword from the file itself does it? Only how the catalog itself references them. So if I were to start over with a new catalog, importing my images (and the .xmp's that I have written automatically) I'd have the same problem all over again.

Thanks Robert , It looks promising after I get the hang of it .

If you bought Scott Kelbys LR book he is doing a free PDF that can be downloaded soon .

''just finished writing a special free Version 1.1 PDF update for people who’ve bought my book “The Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers” and we’re working on having it up live by tomorrow. I call this update “My Lightroom 1.1 Update Kit” and the kit is laid out in two page spreads; the left page shows how we used to do a particular task in the original Lightroom 1.0, and the right page shows the new and improved way to do it in version 1.1. It’s a really clean, quick, and efficient way to get up-to-speed fast, and the initial feedback on it has been really terrific. Also, I threw in lots of cool little tips because…well, I just love cool little tips. More on this when it goes live tomorrow. ''

Thanks Don. I just got my copy of the Lightoom book about a week ago and was wondering what was going to happen with 1.1. Cool!

This I am not sure of. Since I started my Library, er, Catalog, with fresh images and virtually no keywording I haven't had this battle. I guess you would have to write to XMP then to alter the file. ???

It's just that I find it an odd feeling to go from trouble to satisfaction (generally) with this new version, and yet there are those "left behind" so to speak with remaining issues.

But then, from my perspective, Adobe corrected many of the issues I was experiencing, and I feel like I can say that Adobe will continue to fix issues until most (not likely all) of the customers will be satisfied.

Hopefully...

Yeah, I'm glad for you guys that have it working well for you..

I find it so difficult to get past my pet-peeve that its hard to have any fun trying out other new tools. I patiently waited for 1.1 to address it, but they did not. I really need the keyword mess sorted out for lightroom's library to be of any use... the bad thing is it seems like such a small request I have too; unfortunately it probably won't get addressed until 2.0, and I'd have to pay for it then, question is, am I going to be willing to give Adobe any more money after this mess?

(I don't see that many new features coming down the pipe for free... bug fixes, maybe. I think the features they added for 1.1 were planned for 1.0, just couldn't be completed in time before they rushed it out the door... and they were dead set against a beta 5.)
