Parades are certainly not my favourite subject but you just can't beat all the great characters that turn out for our annual Gay Pride Parade here in SF. And it's always a wicked good time.

Not for the faint of heart (aka prudes)

The parade wouldn't interest me, but there is little doubt the sights to photograph could be quite intriguing. Nice shots! :)

You can get away with a lot at a parade in San Francisco. You will not be arrested on this day if you forget to wear clothes out of the house. As long as you're in the parade or at the Civic Center (City Hall) area where the party is afterwards you're fine.

I hate to think of some of the sunburns people will be sporting the next day.

In realty there are a fair number of nudist and outrageous costumes to be seen but the majority of the participants are fully clothed and look like your average joe/jane.

Excellent captures, Ellen, thanks for sharing! The 'parade rules' are pretty much the same here in NYC. I took some pictures of the G&L parade here last Sunday too and will post them soon.

In G&N they would be critical of the difference in the skin tones above the backside of the man in the last picture.
