Forgive Another Cliche?

Okay... I had just a few hours in Middlebury, Vt. last weekend and even fewer sunrise moments. Worse yet, the astonishingly quaint town is dominated by the First Congregational Church. Which meant to capture Middlebury, meant gathering an image of this steeple. Hey, one visit to Paris, you gonna pass up at least a snap of that tower they've got? Huh? Huh?

Okay... so here's a 17mm capture I decided upon. And.... yeah, it's a "Wow!" shot. But beyond a calendar or a postcard, it could be any picturesque American town, right? There's no metaphor here, nothing that pictures a place. What I've got is a cliché. Was there something more interesting I missed from it? A different angle? A zany cat, purring on the steps? A... a... what? How do you folks handle the cliché shot?

I really like the angle, it's a different steeple / church shot. I don't love straight on shots unless there's a more dynamic element behind it, such as the sky you've presented. Looks like the big white church (almost exactly) in my hometown where I grew up. Also the moon is pretty cool since it's silouhetted against one of the darkest parts of the sky. Nice capture.
